US Property Tax Rates 2026 — State, County & City
The most granular open compilation of US residential property tax burdens we are aware of: 51 states/DC, 3,132 counties and 10,058 cities, each with the effective rate (median annual tax ÷ median home value), median tax paid, median home value and median household income. Built from US Census ACS 2023 5-year estimates and Tax Foundation 2024 rates — the same data that powers our property tax calculator.
